The Pole Star

The Founding Partners of PoleStar Partners:
  • Rose-Anne Moore
  • Rose-Anne’s blog (will open in new window)
Rose-Anne believes that most business and marketing plans are worthless, but that the planning process is essential.

A strategist-turned-ethicist, Rose-Anne is still passionate about people’s beliefs, attitudes, and underlying values; and about understanding how each informs the others, thereby influencing people’s decisions and actions. A certified mediator, she is an experienced executive in both corporate and not-for-profit arenas, with particular expertise in interfaith dialogue, ethics, marketing research (qualitative and quantitative), website usability testing, and editorial.

Since research should drive strategy, and strategy should drive tactics, she has driven everything from major strategic shifts to minor communications tweaks. She has worked for consulting and research firms (Opinionsite, Digital Idea, Markitecture, and J. D. Power and Associates), advertising agencies (Scali McCabe Sloves and Angotti Thomas Hedge), and client-side companies, in a range of industries from automotive to financial services to healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

An expert in website usability, Rose-Anne was instrumental in establishing the New York City chapter of the international Usability Professionals’ Association, and served two years as chapter secretary. PoleStar Partner usability clients have ranged from Rutgers University Law School (Newark) to Maxwell-Silver (a portfolio of downtown New York boutiques).

She has done extensive editorial work (copy editing to index building) for individual authors like the acclaimed theologian Miroslav Volf and for major publishers like Oxford University Press.

Rose-Anne earned her undergraduate degree from Williams College, magna cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, her MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, and an MAR in ethics, magna cum laude, from Yale Divinity School.
